A total of 66 were transferred onto two Palestinian buses at an Israeli-controlled detention centre outside the West Bank city of Ramallah after earlier being released from jails inside Israel.
Some of the prisoners could be seen kissing the ground while others flashed victory signs.
They were expected to be driven to the nearby Beitunia checkpoint for an emotional reunion with their families.
Four buses could also be seen passing through the Tarqumia checkpoint near the West Bank city of Hebron.
An Israeli officer said 107 men were onboard the buses, some of whom would disembark in Hebron and the rest in Bethlehem.
A few dozen were also delivered to the Erez crossing on the border between Israel and the Gaza Strip.
They were among a total of around 340 prisoners who were expected to be freed yesterady after being transferred from the prisons of Ketziot, in the southern Negev desert, and Meggido, in northern Israel.
According to lists published Monday by Israel's prison services, 342 Palestinians held for security reasons are to be released. – Sapa-AFP.
