Discrimination against people living with HIV/Aids is a worldwide challenge, Justice Minister Jeff Radebe said on Friday.

SABC news reported that Radebe had challenged jurists to come up with possible ways in which the law could protect people living with HIV/Aids from stigmatisation.

Radebe was addressing a two-day meeting of about 30 jurists from different African countries in Rosebank, Johannesburg.

He said judges had a crucial role to play in ending discrimination against people living with HIV/Aids in South Africa and the rest of the continent.
