The government intends to spend over a trillion rand on infrastructure development over the next five years, Economic Development Minister Ebrahim Patel said on Friday, the SABC reported.
Patel said that infrastructure investments must lead to spending by communities to ensure local businesses and manufacturers will benefit.
He was speaking at an information session in the Matzikamma district in the Western Cape intended to teach local entrepreneurs how to start a business.
