United Democratic Movement president Bantu Holomisa told residents of Saldanha Bay that government had 'neglected' them.

Speaking at the Western Cape fishing and harbour town yesterday he said that a UDM government would institute a Commission "to stop the current crisis-management of marine resources".

He said infrastructure development was "at the heart of the UDM Manifesto", and that small communities had as much right as any other community to decent housing, better schools, and clinics.

Meanwhile, in Pietermaritzburg, Kwa-Zulu Natal, Inkatha Freedom Party leader Mangosutho Buthelezi called on IFP supporters to spread the IFP message through word of mouth, because the IFP did not have as many resources as their opponents.

"Each of you must become walking billboards for the IFP", he said.

Buthelezi said election sabotage was causing him sleepless nights, and that the IFP and Democratic Alliance would have party agents at every polling station to prevent acts of fraud on the day of the election. – Sapa.
