INTRODUCTION
As toerisme minister vir die Wes-Kaap, is dit regtig vir my 'n eer om vanaand hier te wees om die Canal Walk besoekersinligtingsentrum te open.
CANAL WALK AS A SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE ICON
One the largest shopping centres in the southern hemisphere, and with an annual turnover of R1,3 billion, Canal Walk has become an important icon for tourists who are looking for a world-class shopping experience.
Last year Canal Walk received 18 million visitors of which it is estimated that 8 to 10 percent were tourists. You only have to experience the current tourism influx to the Western Cape for the International Cricket World Cup to know that there's many more to come.
