Premier, David Makhura, will on 24 September 2015 celebrate Heritage Month by hosting a breakfast at Maropeng, west of Johannesburg.
The Heritage Day breakfast comes in the wake of the single largest hominin find yet made on the African continent.
On Thursday, 10 September 2015 Scientists revealed that fossils belonging to a new species of human, Homo naledi had been discovered at the Maropeng Cradle of Humankind.
The unusual combination of characters seen in the Homo naledi skulls and skeletons is unlike anything ever seen in any other early hominin species.
Professor Lee Berger, a paleoanthropologist, physical anthropologist and archeologist known for hisdiscovery of Homo naledi, will tell the story of the Rising Star Expedition and personally introduce guests to Homo naledi.
