“The Freedom Front Plus welcomes the unanimous decision of the Court of Appeal in the Dalai Lama case. It is shocking that the Department of Home Affairs had purposefully and illegally delayed the visa application of the Dalai Lama for more than four months last year. This action attests of an abuse of power by the ANC government which has lost its marbles,” Dr. Corné Mulder, the FF Plus’ chief spokesperson on Home Affairs said.
 
“The finding of the court that this action was taken purposefully and illegally, is in accordance with the view the FF Plus consistently held in this matter. South Africa’s image internationally has suffered enormous damage. This is a classic example where the ANC government, in its submission to China, had committed an administrative transgression. It is furthermore also important to take note that it was once again necessary to approach the courts to force the ANC government to do its work correctly. South Africa deserves better than this,” Dr. Mulder added.
