The following Freedom Front Plus councillors in the Tshwane/Pretoria metro council hereby congratulate Dr. Mulder with his appointment as deputy minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and wish him well with his new responsibilities:

Dr. Rentia Landman (leader of the FF Plus in the council), Dr. Conrad Beyers (caucus chairperson), Col. Piet Uys (whip), councillors Neels Hatting, Wouter Hoffman and Frik van Wyk.

After consultation with the party leadership as well as influential Afrikaner institutions, Dr. Mulder accepted the important gesture that Pres. Zuma made to the Afrikaner community.

It was important that Dr. Mulder accepted this gesture in the interest of Afrikaners and the agricultural community. It is good for South Africa and also offers the FF Plus new opportunities to play a significant role to influence government decisions, also on municipal level.

It is time for the party to close ranks and to work for a better future for our people and for our party.
