"The Freedom Front Plus has expressed its disappointment with the latest petrol price increase which will come into effect next week. It shows that the FF Plus was correct to criticize the increased tax on fuel, as announced by Minister Gordhan, as being short-sighted. The inflationary effect of the increased fuel tax together with the systematic and incremental increase of the fuel price will hamper South Africa's economy," Adv. Anton Alberts, the parliamentary spokesperson for the Freedom Front Plus on Energy says.
"The situation becomes worse if the Eskom increase of 25% per annum over the next three years is taken into account. If the government is serious about stimulating the economy, the tax on fuel will have to be reconsidered immediately."
