Dr. Pieter Mulder, the FF Plus leader, will tomorrow (Friday 16 September 2011) and Saturday be attending the thirteenth meeting of the UNPO presidency in Brussels, Belgium. At the meeting he will be informing the attendees of the current situation in and in particular the position of minorities in South Africa.

“The world has to take notice of the Malema judgments and of the ANC’s position on it. If the ANC threatens to go to the Constitutional Court because of Judge Lamont’s judgment that “Shoot the Boer, Shoot the Farmer” is not hate speech, it sends a very negative message about relationships in South Africa into the world. Although the message is an oversimplification of the situation in South Africa, it cannot be expected that the world has to understand the intricacies of the ANC’s politics,” Dr. Pieter Mulder, who is already in Europe, said.

“The world has to be kept informed of the positive and negative events in South Africa. It is part of the internationalisation of the South African situation. If a crisis arises in South Africa, the international community should be informed in order to be able to take the necessary decisions. It is too late to only start with an international information attempt while in a crisis,” according to Mulder.

Positive events such as the extension of South Africa’s infrastructure during the World Soccer Tournament as well as the positive attitudes which exists amongst the majority of South Africans but also the negative of farm murders will be part of Dr. Mulder’s contribution. Dr. Mulder was last year elected as a member of the UNPO’s executive management. UNPO is an international organisation which acts in the interests of minorities across the world. UNPO has at present approximately 50 members which represent more than 200 million people across the world. (For more information on UNPO go to www.unpo.org <http://www.unpo.org/> )
