The media is hereby invited to the handing over of a petition to the British High Commissioner in which it is requested that the British government take note of the political interference in sport in South Africa. It is unacceptable that South Africa is denied the opportunity to send its best team to the rugby World Cup.

This type of interference on a racial basis led to an international sport boycott against South Africa under the previous regime.

Adv. Anton Alberts, the FF Plus’ parliamentary spokesperson on sport, will be handing over the letter and address the media.

Date               :           Monday 31 August 2015
Time              :           12:00
Place             :           British High Commission, Hill Street 255, Arcadia, Pretoria
