The Federation of Unions of South Africa (FEDUSA) wishes to congratulate the South African national cricket team, the Proteas, for winning the series against England on Monday. FEDUSA believes that Cricket South Africa has come a long way in developing our talent.

The Proteas beat England by 51 runs in the third and final Test at Lord’s to win the series 2-0 and become the number one ranked Test team in the world. Vernon Philander was chosen as man of the match and Hashim Amla as man of the series.

“We congratulate our boys on this victory,” said FEDUSA General Secretary Dennis George. “Special congratulations are due to Vernon [Philander] and Hashim [Amla] for their achievements. South African sport can learn a lot from cricket about transformation and development of new talent. We are proud that the Proteas are now the first-ranked team in the world,” he added.
