Nguema arrives on a two-day working visit and is expected to be accompanied by among others, Foreign Minister Pastor Micha Ondo Bile.
"South Africa hosted President Obiang Nguema on a working visit in December 2003, when a general co-operation agreement between the two countries was signed," a foreign affairs statement issued yesterday said.
It is expected that senior government officials from Equatorial Guinea will travel to South Africa towards the end of the year to begin discussions on the establishment of a Joint Binational Commission between the two countries.
South Africa will also soon open its first diplomatic mission in the capital of Equatorial Guinea, Malabo, later this year, the statement added. – Sapa.
