1. The Applicant is the registered owner of commercial property in the Johannesburg CBD. The buildings on the property forms part of the "Better Building Project initiative in what is identified as the Fashion District within the inner City.
2. In February 2010 the Applicant sought the eviction of those occupying the building. The application was brought under the provisions of section 4(1) of the Prevention of Illegal Eviction from Unlawful Occupation Act 19 of 1998 (PIE).
