This Bill seeks to complement attempts by government and other relevant stakeholders to create an enabling environment for not-for-profit organisations. It is thus only one component amongst a range of measures that either currently exist or are as yet being developed.
In addition, this Bill attempts to bring legislation affecting not-for-profit organisations in line with constitutional guarantees of free associationand the general principle of encouraging a vibrant and accountable civil society.
