The survey was conducted in November last year when the Independent Democrats were barely five months old. In this very short space of time the Independent Democrats already commanded 2% of the vote across the country, 10% in the Western Cape, 5% in the Northern Cape and 2% in both Gauteng and the Northern Cape.
"It is encouraging to see that the Independent Democrats is the only party to show significant growth in its support while all the other parties are on the decline, " says De Lille.
"When the survey was done, the Independent Democrats were only starting out.
"We are capturing almost 1 000 membership forms per day at present arriving from all the provinces. And we haven't even launched our election campaign yet! "We are not even a year old and the survey forecasts that we will get more votes than some political parties that have been around for over 10 years. South Africans want credible leadership and a party that will take politics back to the people" said De Lille.
"Watch this space. The established parties are in for the shock of their lives.
The 11% of undecided voters are waiting for us to launch our campaign before they put their cross for the ID," says De Lille.
