To celebrate June Youth month, the Democratic Alliance Youth hosted a conference. The conference, hosted at the Marian College in Linmeyer,included young speakers who covered a wide range of subjects affecting young people in modern South Africa.
As part of this conference, was a round-table discussion which comprised exclusively of only young people. Matters discussed included the topical Youth Wage Subsidy, the future and vision of what young people want for South Africa and their vision for South Africa and themselves.
“I was most impressed with the calibre of the youth and vision that young people have for South Africa” explained de Freitas who also addressed the youth audience. De Freitas said that it is the youth, with their innocent and hopeful vision that they have that gives him hope and the fortitude to continue with the work that he does.
Manny de Freitas thanked the young people for their optimism and excitement for our future. “Mandela’s vision is not dead” said de Freitas.
