Title: DA: Zille: Address by the leader of the DA, at the launch of the delivery bus, Cape Town
Fellow South Africans,
We are entering the final phase of this historic election campaign. There are only two and a half weeks to go until the people of South Africa are given the chance to choose who they want to govern their town or city for the next five years.
In this campaign, we have pointed out that no DA municipality is perfect, that mistakes happen. But we have always admitted our errors and done our best to rectify them. And, we have always acted in good faith, with the best interests of the people at heart. It is what the people of South Africa deserve.
People deserve a government that is not afraid to find new and innovative ways to deliver more with less. They deserve a government that works hard for them. They deserve a government that delivers because it is afraid of losing their vote if it doesn’t.
That is the government we offer South Africa – at local, provincial and national level.
In this campaign, we have shown that life gets better for all where the DA governs. Whether it is in Cape Town, Midvaal, Nokeng Tsa Taemane, Overstrand, Swartland or Baviaans – more people have access to better services and more poor people have access to free basic services. And things are getting better all the time.
More and more people are getting this message. They can see that the DA is making a difference. That is why we are on track to win an outright majority for the first time in Cape Town. That is why, increasingly, people from other cities want us to come and improve things where they live. We can make historic gains in cities like Johannesburg, Pretoria and Port Elizabeth.
All of these metros are up for grabs. But it depends on what people decide to do on May 18.
That is why we are launching the DA Delivery Bus today. This bus will carry DA leaders and activists in a final drive to encourage people to go out and vote DA. We want to reach as many people as we can. Everybody must hear our message of hope before election day.
Because these elections are not about us. They are about you. They are about showing the politicians whose boss. They are about choosing the party you believe will work the hardest for you.
It’s up to you. This is your moment.
So, whatever you do, make sure you vote on the 18 May.
And vote DA.
Because the DA delivers for all!
