Tomorrow, 10 December 2014, DA Shadow Minister of Women in the Presidency and the Leader of the DA Women’s Network (DAWN), Denise Robinson MP will host a roundtable discussion, with prominent attendees, on the struggles women face with the criminal justice system.
Robinson will engage the attendees on the following topics:
The steps the Ministry, under Minister Susan Shabangu, can take to find an effective way of dealing with the abuse of women and children.
The ways in which many fathers are withholding maintenance from their families, and the problems with the justice system and the maintenance courts in ensuring that maintenance is paid.
The audience will be given a chance to participate and tell the panel where the systems are failing women and what their suggestions for solutions are.
The roundtable will take place as follows:
