We are immeasurably proud of our Paralympic team, who are recognised as one of the favourites and a leading team to bring back gold.

Our Paralympians will represent our nation on the global stage where their trials and triumphs will be shared by all South Africans.

The DA also acknowledges the sacrifices and dedication of the family, friends and supporters of our athletes.

We know that our athletes and their support staff will do themselves and all South Africans proud at the 2012 London Paralympic Games.

Sport is a powerful tool for breaking down social barriers and our athletes, who epitomise our diversity, will no doubt serve as a powerful reminder that we are ‘one team, one nation’.

We call on all South Africans to unite behind Team SA and support our nation’s green and gold.
