The Democratic Alliance (DA) has extended a formal invitation to Section27 to join our protest against the Limpopo Department of Education's failure to provide textbooks to Limpopo’s learners.

We will be protesting in the streets of Polokwane tomorrow morning and will converge on the Limpopo Department of Education’s headquarters in Biccard Street to present our demands.

Our primary demand is simple: We want the Department to provide every child in Limpopo with all the books they need on time every year. Without these books, our children cannot access their Constitutional right to a quality education.

This is in line with what Section27 want from the Department of Education and we therefore are inviting them to stand with us on Monday in solidarity with the children of Limpopo.

Thousands of Limpopo learners have not had textbooks for seven months of the school year, and we will join forces with all interested organisations to make sure that this never happens again. We cannot allow government to continue to jeopardise our children’s future.
