I have today written to the State Tender Board to report concerns that the four companies owned or under directorship of ANCYL President Julius Malema were not registered with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), yet still received tenders from Limpopo municipalities.

Not being registered with the CIDB raises serious questions around the legality of the tenders awarded to Malema's companies.

The four companies which are either owned or directed by Julius Malema are: SGL Engineering Projects, 101 JunJus Trading, Blue Nightingale Trading 61 and Ever Roaring Investments.
Should the State Tender Board find that fraud or criminal business activity has taken place, we will request the State Tender Board to take the necessary steps to blacklist the companies associated with Julius Malema, and for the necessary action be taken against Malema should he be found guilty of fraud.

The letter follows below.

Request to investigate alleged tender non-compliance and irregularities by companies owned or directed by Julius Malema

Mr Mathebula,
Following reports that the four companies owned, or directed by, ANCYL President Julius Malema, were not registered with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), and hence are not in possession of the necessary valid registration certificate issued by the CIDB, but still received tenders from Limpopo municipalities, I would like to request as a matter of urgency, that you investigate this matter and take the appropriate action should irregularities or contraventions of the law be discovered.

The four companies which are either owned or directed by Julius Malema are: SGL Engineering Projects, 101 JunJus Trading, Blue Nightingale Trading 61 and Ever Roaring Investments.

Following reports that tenders related to the above mentioned companies belonging to Julius Malema were irregular, I request a thorough investigation into all other tenders that were awarded to Julius Malema or companies in which he is, or has been, involved.

Should the State Tender Board discover that fraud or criminal business activity has taken place, I request that the State Tender Board pursue the necessary steps to blacklist the companies associated with Julius Malema, and that the necessary action be taken against Malema should he be found guilty of fraud.

Looking forward to your response in this regard.
