The Democratic Alliance in Ventersdorp held a public meeting in the Ventersdorp Council building on the evening of Friday the 26th of October. The meeting was organised to listen to the public’s service delivery complaints. Members of the African National Congress stormed into the meeting and were visibly aggressive and intimidated the public.

Councillor Combrick Mogwata who chaired the public meeting was assaulted by the ANC mob; allegedly the Mayor of Ventersdorp Local Municipality was with the ANC group. Cllr Mogwata opened a case of common assault at the Ventersdorp police station case number: 170/10/2012

The Democratic Alliance will not stop delivering services to the community of Ventersdorp and will be monitoring this case very closely.
