The DA today has condemned in the strongest terms the racial attack on Mohammed Fayaz Kazi on Monday.
It is reported that Kazi was allegedly beaten to death in Magaliesburg by two men from Ventersdorp. According to a family friend Kazi was called the “K-word” and derogatory comments were made about his beard.
Certainly this behavior has no place in the modern South-Africa.
We can only hope that justice will prevail and that the law will take its course. It is unfortunate that during the month of Ramadan and the fact that South Africa is celebrating the freedom of woman that an incident of this kind happened in our society.
The DA extends our deepest condolences to the family of Mohammed as well as the Muslim community in this Holy time of Ramadan.
DA will leave no stone unturned and will continue to fight for a non-racial and non-sexist South Africa. We are all unique in our different cultures and I call upon our communities to respect each other.
