The Democratic Alliance (DA) warmly welcomes the announcement of a final 23-man squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, and wishes our boys, along with head coach Carlos Albert Parreira, the very best of luck for the tournament.

This is a special day for the 23 players who have been chosen, and comes on the back of a most exceptional 5-0 victory over Guatemala last night, which I am sure has done much to demonstrate to all South Africans just how determined this group of players is to succeed on the pitch.

Last night's match meant that Bafana Bafana are now unbeaten in their last eleven matches under Carlos Alberto Perreira - a remarkable and timely turnaround in our national team's form ahead of the tournament.

South Africans are already showing a fantastic sense of spirit and camaraderie in the run-up to this tremendous spectacle for our country. This is the time for all South Africans to get behind our team, and show them our fullest support!
