The Democratic Alliance in Madibeng has laid criminal charges against the Madibeng Local Municipality. This highly troubled municipality, well known for its corrupt practices and poor service delivery record removed the DA`s paid up and approved posters illegally a mere day after its erection. In effect directly and admitting to sabotaging our campaign for jobs for the unemployed.

The DA`s was removed with the full knowledge and approval of the Municipal Manager, Mr. M Juta. Mr. Juta refused to have the posters replaced despite all appropriate steps having been taken for legal erection of the posters. The leader of the DA in council, Cllr. Leon Basson, discussed the matter with Juta who refused to budge, hereby directly infringing on the DA`s right to free speech.

This incident is clear cut proof that the DA is now the only political party in South Africa, committed to the values that Nelson Mandela advocated – and how the ANC ruled government is infringing and limiting the rights of anyone or anything that makes them feel threatened.

We will not be stopped in advocating, fighting, campaigning for the soul of this country, researching workable solutions for poverty and redress. We will not be ceased or hindered by the ANC`s attempts to sabotage us. In truth, it will only makes us stronger and more determined to fight for the freedom of the poor from a ANC dominated system of more subtle but equal oppression of the vulnerable.
