Today is the deadline for Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga to submit the report on Limpopo Textbook delivery to President Jacob Zuma.
President Zuma must make this report public and table it for discussion at the parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Basic Education.
The President, after considering recommendations by the Inter-Ministerial Task Team, requested Minister Motshekga to supply information on the following matters;
- The effective procurement, delivery and supply of textbooks to affected schools.
- The implementation and monitoring of the catch up plan in respect of grade 10 learners.
The President must be transparent and release the finding of the report so that decisive action can be taken. Failure to do so will come at the cost of an entire cohort of South African learners.
