Cosatu has been alarmed at the recent reports that the MEC Lennit Max is going to be fired to make place for Patricia De Lille. This is clearly a case of political expediency on the part of Premier Zille. This attempt to undermine and circumvent democratic processes is completely unacceptable and makes a mockery of the promise to the people of the W Cape that the MEC were chosen for their skill.

Should this charade go ahead Cosatu will take the Premier back to the Equality Court, and challenge her flagrant disregard of the electorate. The people should know how dishonest the DA is in their dealings with the electorate.

This is the kind of political mismanagement that undermines democracy and it is driven by the political ambitions of the politicians, rather than the best interest of the people.
