The Congress of South African Trade Union and its affiliates reject the statement that it has agreed to suspend its call for the re-calling of the Premier of the North West.
During the alliance secretariat meeting on 6 September 2010 at no stage was the matter discussed, or that the alliance will not be allowed to speak at the ANC PGC.
The ANC PTT must stop lying to the public about things that they know are not true. The PTT planned to disrespect the alliance during its PGC since from the RGC that was held two weeks ago. The matter of the alliance not to be recognised was long planned.
It is a COSATU position that Premier Modiselle is must be recalled from her position as the premier of North West. We are not going to compromise the political decision. The position is still clear that the current premier of the province must go.
The ANC PTT co-ordination must not intimidate COSATU leaders by calling them one by one. COSATU provincial chairperson was called and intimidated after the ANC PGC's media interviewed.
COSATU is requesting the ANC PTT to stop its coordinator from playing tricks with us, calling our leaders every time we release a media statement. That must come to an end.
COSATU rejected the issue of discussion on corruption with the ANC PTT and indicated that we will continue with the approach of handing the document to the police outside the province. That is how COSATU will deal with the matter of corruption.
COSATU wants to repeat that the current alliance programme that was agreed last week at the secretariat alliance meeting is not for the local government election campaign. If the ANC PTT respects the alliance they must start to implement all the decisions that were agreed at the alliance summit in February 2010.
The COSATU position on the premier Maureen Modiselle still stand, she must be recalled.
