COSATU is disappointed that the W Cape Premier Zille has dodged a debate with the COSATU Provincial Secretary on the huge social fall-out regarding her cabinet appointments.

It is one thing if she is not willing to be accountable to the electorate by coming to explain herself in debate on National TV, but sending the National spokesperson to come and clear up what is essentially her mess-up, smacks of using and embarrassing a black DA member.

The cracks are appearing in Premier Zille as her friends in the media deserts her and stops fluffing up her feathers to make her look good, when in reality she has not been innovative in delivery. Zille's style is essentially about rising on the bodies of others, not capable of insightful leadership. It is this style and the comments on President Zuma's wives last week that led to the separation of ways between Zille and her friends in the media. As hopeful as people were of seeing opposition parties play their role in a more effective manner, the prospect of a Tony Leon times 2 is just too much for anyone to bear

Zille who demands that President Zuma should come and enter into debate with her, this while being scared to debate a Provincial Secretary of COSATU, is a clear indication of losing her way. The stress of the election campaign and the change in identity brought on by the botox must be taking its toll on her, and we would encourage medical attention.

We look forward to working with all the organizations who have raised the issue of equity to bring this province to its senses as clearly the Premier does not have the leadership ability to rise above the petty spats and appeal to our people's better nature in a way that builds greater social cohesion.
