The Congress of South African Trade Unions condemns the Sun International chief executive officer, David Coutts Trotten, and his management's attitude against SACCAWU members who have been on strike since the 4th of December 2009 due to the wage dispute.

Workers of Sun international had black Christmas due to the arrogance of the Chief Executive Officer, , who abandoned the wage negotiations, and left more than 2000 workers on the strike to overseas for his own holiday.

This is a clear sign or a picture of how workers of Sun international are exploited, racially attacked including Sun international employers using Labour Brokers for poor conditions of service and exploitation.

It is clear to the federation including the North West communities that racism at Sun City is being protected by the senior management of Sun international including some few shareholders of Sun international.

COSATU North West demands that the Sun international board including its shareholders must intervene as a matter of urgency to resolve the impasse.

COSATU demands the full investigation of both the North West Gambling Board and Tourism Board on their role at Sun City including the Game Reserves.

We demand the dismissal of the Sun international chief executive officer including his management which does not care about our country and the rest of the poor working class.

COSATU North West is in engaged in discussions with its members from all COSATU affiliates to put up a Provincial action during 2010 World Cup to expose those so-called politicians who are in capital power to destroy our country and talk about them first and not the poor people of this country.

Sun international has lost millions of rand during the strike since the 4th December 2009 due to its don't care attitude that has been displayed by the chief executive officer including some few shareholders.

We are calling all workers who are dismissed due to the protected strike to report to SACCAWU and the federation.

Sun City management must reinstate all those workers who were dismissed unconditionally by the end of Tuesday (the 5th January 2010)

Sun City is our project for 2010, workers have been exploited and racially abused for many years since the time of Bophuthatswana Sun City.

Gone are those days when Sun City used to respect only white people, gone are those days when Sun City used to enjoy profit alone, gone are those days of exploiting the African black workers, racism will be rooted out of Sun City during the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
