COSATU the North West rejects the forgiveness of the four young white racists who are friends to the forgiver ( Mr. Jansen). Forgiving does not build relationships or reconciliation; you forgive people who are real people, people who respect human rights. You do not forgive for the sake of forgiveness to satisfy a few white faces.

Racists remains racists and it must be criminalised.

COSATU North West calls for the immediate suspension of the Rector ( Mr. Jansen) with a full investigation into what made him to take such a racial decision. To us it means the Free State University will be led by a racist who is biased towards a few white students and their families.

Those four boys must remain in jail. Mr. Jansen is not the Magistrate or Judge; he has no right or powers to do anything on the matter which is before the courts.

Mr. Jansen must leave the university before he damages it even more than he has done.

Workers, students, members of the community must fight against Mr. Jansen's un-procedural decision on such a critical matter.
