The Congress of South African Trade Unions salutes the 23 players who have been selected for the final World Cup squad for Bafana Bafana, and urges all South Africans to accept the decision and rally around the team and their coach.
We congratulate Bafana Bafana on their 5-0 victory over Guatemala, and we salute Carlos Alberto Perreira for presiding over the dramatic transformation of the team in the last few matches.
COSATU also sends its support to the five players who have been excluded, thanks them for their contribution to the squad and wishes them success in their future careers.
The federation calls upon the nation to unite behind the coach and the team as they prepare for their opening match against Mexico. Viva Bafana Bafana, Viva!
