The Congress of South African Trade Unions in Limpopo fully supports NEHAWU ,with regard to its ultimatum to the Provincial Government on the long standing grievances of workers. We are fully behind NEHAWU and its members as they say enough is enough.
The federation is saying to Premier Chupu Mathabatha; give workers what is due to them if you want to remain our friend. We are making a call to Premier Chupu Mathabatha to address the following grievances as a matter of urgency:
- Total scrapping of unfair rental fees which is equivalent to housing allowance and scrapping of all accumulated arrears.
- Finalization of parking bay policy.
- Finalization of PMDS without utilizing without discrimination backdated from 2011 with immediate effect and must be implemented uniformly.
- Resolve once and for all challenges relating to training of nurses.
- Re-In source back all security services, laundries, kitchens.
- Release all outstanding investigations in several hospitals and implement their recommendations.
- Finalize and implement the recommendations of the investigations in Public works.
- Stop the implementation of the Limpopo Personnel Management Framework which has literally put all departments in some form of administration by centralizing all powers to appoint in the treasury's office.
The Department of Social Development must resolve all problems affecting social workers immediately as agreed to in the social workers indaba
At the same breath, we are calling on all members of COSATU to remain combat ready to go to the street in defence of our trade unions and the rights of workers in the province.
