COPE welcomes the Cape High Court today told the Shilowa faction that they cannot try to bypass or circumvent the standing interdict in the Gauteng South High court by bringing an urgent application in court in Cape Town.

Their urgent application to summarily dislodge the leadership of President Lekota and the CNC elected in Bloemfontein in 2008, was therefore effectively rejected.

Their counsel's attempt to argue an important aspect in isolation without hearing the full facts, will be heard tomorrow.

The final hearing will take place (if and when) Shilowa and his followers submit an application to attack the interdict standing in the Gauteng court since 11 March without them submitting an appropriate response.

This development means that COPE will finalise its preparations for the local government elections despite all the desperate attempts by these renegades to destroy the party's chances.
