The ruling by the Labour Court against Minister Nzimande's attempts to plunder the SETAs is a victory for the workers and the poor. His attempt to place his cronies, includine Gwede Mantashe's wife, into positions was also ruled out of bounds. Nzimande has treated the SETAs as a cash cow and has shown no regard for the mission of these institutions - the training of under-skilled workers. His own staff - the DG and virtually the entire directorate dealing with the SETAs - have almost all resigned.

This victory for democracy and good governance is one the Congress of the People welcomes. Minister Nzimande must go back to the drawing board and consult the SETAs properly.
