The Congress of the People urges voters not to be swayed by President Jacob Zuma invoking culture and religion to manipulate people into voting for a dysfunctional ANC in Nelson Mandela Bay. This comes after Zuma reportedly said that the ancestors would be upset if the ANC lost Nelson Mandela Bay.
Zuma's attempts to literally put the fear of God into people should they not vote for the ANC is the height of manipulative electioneering. While the Congress of the People doesn't claim to speak for God or the Ancestors, it is a damning indictment that the majority of South Africans continue to live in the same impoverished conditions as our Ancestors did.
The Congress of the People is confident that it will govern in Nelson Mandela Metro in the Eastern Cape. Any attempts to manipulate the electorate based on spiritual beliefs is a smokescreen to cover up for a lack of service delivery to the people in areas that the ANC governs.
