COPE Caucus in Gauteng announced the ruling of a disciplinary hearing of Miss Trudie Prinsloo (COPE Caucus Office Manager) last week, which found Prinsloo guilty of misconduct and subsequently resulted in her immediate dismissal.
It is believed that allegations into the conduct of Miss Prinsloo arose following accusations of financial mismanagement earlier this year.
Prinsloo was since placed under suspension pending the outcome of the disciplinary committee process undertaken by the Caucus at Gauteng Provincial Legislature.
The final disciplinary committee tabled the verdict on the matter of Miss Prinsloo and the following (see attached):
(a) That a memo dated 1 April 2012 was drawn and circulated by Ms H. Koorts and Ms T Wessels both MPLs and sent to Cope National Office Bearers reporting that the Cope Gauteng caucus was chaotic and unstable under the leadership of N. Kalipa (MPL).
(b) That the defendant became part of Cope political conspiracy against the Cope Gauteng Legislature Caucus.
(c) That the defendant communicated confidential information of Cope Gauteng Legislature caucus to a third party.
(d) The defendant was found guilty on the rest of all other charges.
COPE Caucus Leader, Ndzipho Kalipa welcomed the decision of the disciplinary hearing and found that the process was conducted in a fair, unbiased manner to the satisfaction of the disciplinary committee.
