It has been brought to my attention that my name was included in a media statement released yesterday which contained allegations that the Chief Whip of COPE used parliamentary funds for his presidential campaign.

Procurement of goods and services as well as payment of accounts are under exclusive control of the administrative whip and I have no access to the accounts and cannot comment on any allegations.

However, as a Whip and one of three co-signatories, two of whom have to sign off payments, I hereby confirm that as far as I am aware, I have not personally signed for payment of security services nor any other expenses related to the campaign of the Chief Whip against parliamentary caucus or constituency funding.
