Congress of the People (COPE) has received with sadness and grave sense of loss, news of the untimely death of Bafana Bafana Assistant Coach Thomas “Chincha Guluva” Madigage.

COPE Parliamentary caucus extend their heartfelt condolences to the Madigage Family, SAFA, and the entire football community. Madigage was a humble sportsman who understood that there is nothing that unifies a nation like sport.

It is for that reason that a son of the soil responded positively when he was called upon to service the national team and help the Head coach.

Madigage deserved to be a critical part of National Team because of his successful track record from his heydays as Bafana Midfielder to his  Assistant coaching days with Supersport United, and finally with Bafana Bafana.

South Africans must honour this great Sportsman who represented the national team with pride, honour and distinction.  We trust that in celebrating Madigage’s life the Bafana team will put all their efforts in winning the AFCON 2013 to renew faith and hope in our country particularly after the tragedy. May his soul rest in peace.
