Congress of the People (COPE) has received a response from the Minister
of Cooperative Governance & Traditional Affairs Mr Richard Baloyi
following the party’s request to investigate the controversial
appointment of Mr Norman Selai to the Department of Police, Roads and
Transport in Bloemfontein in the Free State. Please see the letter attached.
The request was made in July 2012.
We will continue to follow up this matter because we believe Mr.
Selai’s appointment was improper, corrupt and illegal.
COPE has been questioning the procedure around the appointment of Mr
Selai since he is under investigation for Fraud.
