While Business Unity SA recognises the right of the ANC Youth League (ANCYL) to hold its Economic Freedom March on October 27th and 28th, it urges the youth organisation to ensure that the event is peaceful and does not unduly disturb normal economic activities.
BUSA shares the concern of the ANCYL about the challenges of youth unemployment and social inequalities, but believes these are best addressed through programmes like the New Growth Path as well as the effective implementation of existing government policies on growth and employment.
It also remains important that the viability of business - especially small and emerging business - be recognised by ensuring that the economic freedom march is peaceful and conducted in a spirit of reconciliation and economic nation building.
