The President of the Burundian Transitional Government, Domitien Ndayizeye, and representatives of the three main political parties, Uprona, Frodebu and CNDD-FDD, will arrive in South Africa today for talks, foreign affairs said.

"They were invited by Deputy President Jacob Zuma who is the facilitator of the Burundi Peace Process," said spokesperson Ronnie Mamoepa in a statement yesterday.

The delegation, which is expected to remain in the country until Monday, will include the Burundian ministers of External Relations and Co-operation, Therence Singunguruza, Mobilisation for Peace and National Reconciliation, Antoine Butoyi and Justice, Didace Kiganahe.

The Frodebu delegation will be headed by Jean Minani (President of the National Assembly). Uprona will be lead by senator Jean Baptiste Manwangari and the CNDD-FDD by Pierre Nkurunziza.

"The consultations between the political parties are expected to focus on the issue of power-sharing arrangements raised with Zuma during his visit to Bujumbura in June," Mamoepa said.

He said both sides expressed hope that the "issue would find a resolution" at the Pretoria meeting.

All sides are very hopeful, he said. – Sapa.
