Essy said the AU "rejected and unequivocally condemned any anti-constitutional change, in line with decisions and declarations adopted at the summits in Algiers and Lome and under terms of the founding act of the African Union," in a statement issued here.
He said the AU central body that deals with conflict management "will meet shortly to examine the situation and what measures to take to respond to it," in the statement, though it gave no immediate details - Sapa-AFP
