Young people in particular structures of the ANC Youth League are called once again to defend their leadership against the onslaught from the media and other rightwing elements of this country.

These representatives of this reactionary conduct are in a form of Mail and Guardian, City Press, the Star and E - TV among others, who will at all costs do everything possible to justify the reasons why private lives of ANC leadership should be under scrutiny.

It is the same media that launched a crusade of attacks against the President of the ANC Jacob Zuma before and after his ascendancy to the highest office in the land.

The new entrants in the fray of public spat especially parading as genuine representatives of law abiding citizens and defenders of South Africa's constitution, is Mosioua Terror Lekota who climb on the bend-wagon because without him and his party having to launch scathing attacks to the ANC, their lifespan in the body politico is shortened everyday.

We in the ANC family know Terror Lekota as one of the architects of dictatorship, lack of tolerance to different opinions, an individual leader who will find comfort in suppressing democratic debates and hence he opted for signing of divorce papers.

The President of the Youth League under the banner of the ANC leads young people of this country in championing their interests and that includes making sure that economic development opportunities are accessible to majority of this sector and population.

The 1994 April breakthrough meant that a conducive environment politically, socially and economically should exist in our country for the historically marginalized which includes the youth whom Julius Malema is part of, would benefit from these opportunities brought about by democracy.

Therefore the President of the Youth League before he becomes a member and a leader of this organisation is a member of the society and for that reason he stands to benefit from the cause of social change.
We wonder whose interests these people are serving, of wanting to redefine the role the ANC Youth League in the ANC and in society.
The ANC Youth League led by President Julius "Vuvuzela" Malema remains the only militant and radical political youth organisation in the country, the continent and the world.

There is difference between respect and fear therefore suppression of democratic, open and robust debates cannot be turned as disrespect.

We reiterate that an attack on the President of the ANC Youth League is an attack to the ANC and young people of this country.

Any attempt to single out the leader of young people and project him as irresponsible and not capable to lead the youth of this country, should be crushed including its proponents.

We are aware of the efforts to deviate and redirect the attention of the public from the major debates that are ensuing in the public discourse.

This will not deter us from defending the ANC and its hegemony in society for further advancement of the National Democratic Revolution.
