The ANCYL welcomes the highly intensive HIV and AIDS intervention campaign of the ANC led government that will commence in April 2010. This is an indication of the fulfillment of the President's committment on World Aids Day to amplify extensive measures to increase treatment of HIV and AIDS.
The ANCYL holds in high regard the efforts of the Government in minimising the pandemic of HIV and AIDS and its impact. The campaign will focus on massive education, information and mobilisation and involve all government hospitals and clinics, universities and further education and training campuses.
The ANCYL further welcomes the focus on the availability of post exposure prophylaxis that will be available for rape survivors at all health facilities without a request for a case number from the police.
The ANCYL also welcomes the spirit of participation by all sectors in society as a show of their committment in defeating the pandemic.
The ANCYL urges all young people to be at the forefront of the campaign in getting tested and utilising the full oppurtunity of the campaign and its interventions in order to achieve the targetted "zero" infections amongst youth by 2014.
The ANCYL calls upon all young people to abstain from abusing substances and refuse unprotected sex.
The ANCYL reaffirms its campaign for No Condom...No Sex!!!, One Condom...One Round!!!, One Boyfriend...One Girlfriend!!!
