Receive the most heartfelt greetings from a militant and radical youth organisation of the African National Congress (ANC) in Limpopo.

We are communicating with you at a time when the leadership of the ANC Youth League is under constant attack by dark forces and they are hell-bent on denigrating the ANCYL and with the intention of destroying it and its leadership.

The ANCYL in Limpopo held its Extraordinary Provincial Executive Committee meeting on the 23 August 2011 at the Royal Hotel in Polokwane. All leaders in their respective regions and sub-regions attended this meeting meticulously.

The purpose of the meeting was to analyse all the unnecessary and desperate attempts to destroy our organisation. The meeting took appropriate steps and demonstrated the most decisive way-forward given all the challenges we encountered.

We are convinced that the charges brought against our national leadership are political in nature. As such they require discussions within the framework of ANC structures. To this end, we are determined, unconditionally, without any fear of contradiction, to support the leadership of the ANCYL in any given political circumstances.

We are unwaveringly devoted to demonstrate the militancy and radicalism of our fore-bearers in this instance. Our organisation should not be under-estimated by individuals who think outside organizational processes, the autonomy and role of the ANCYL.

We cannot allow people to use their positions to undermine the leadership of the ANCYL. For this we are prepared to fight tooth and nail to support the collective led by President Julius Malema.

In our understanding these spurious media contrived activities coupled with undermining tactics by others; these are desperate attempts to defocus us from our struggle for economic freedom in our lifetime.

Our people cannot be expected to be satisfied with political freedom alone; this is an empty, meaningless shell. Economic emancipation lies central to the day-to-day struggles of all our people.

In particular we also refer to the recent challenges faced by the ANC-led government in our province and the malicious attempts by certain individuals in the media, to label our leaders as corrupt criminals. This mischievous campaign – comes on the back of the Limpopo government successes of having achieved clean audits in most of its departments, but this has been conveniently ignored by many in the media.

Our government is the best in terms of terms of managing finances in the country. This is a success of the ANC-led government. In the first quarter of this year we have also created 60 thousand new jobs through the Expanded Public Works Programme.

In particular we wish to state clearly that we are aware of the media campaign to discredit our leaders ingovernment, the ANCYL president and the collective.

We would further like to get clarity on the arms deal, because time and again we get signals elsewhere outside the country that there are unanswered questions

Instead of people responding to the Public Protector’s report they want her to re-investigate what has long been concluded whilst there are outstanding responses to her findings.

We also appreciate the latest victory brought about by the recent Constitutional Court ruling on the Moutse demarcation matter.

We call for unity in the ANCYL and the ANC. We support our provincial chairperson in the ANC and premier in government.

The ANCYL in Limpopo is grateful to the people of our province for their unwavering support.
