The ANCYL welcomes the appointment of Siza Mzimela as the Chief Executive Officer of South African Airways (SAA).
The appointment of the CEO is welcomed and the ANCYL wishes her well in ensuring that the the considerations of the plight of workers are a priority and that labour brokers in the industry are banned. This will determine that the strides made in the transformation of SAA benefits all and in particular the employees who are at the centre of its operational success.
We further anticipate that the CEO will address the imbalances that continue to hinder the full participation of the majority of our people by increasing the number of black pilots and technical staffing.
The ANCYL welcomes the appointment of the CEO who is the best candidate for the position of CEO and has extensive experience and a volume of knowledge in the airline industry.
We applaud her for being the first woman to be appointed to Captain SAA and serves as an inspiration to the young people of South Africa.
The ANCYL wishes her well in her appointment as we take the nation forward as we host the FIFA World Cup.
