The ANC YL has reiterated its support for embattled Athletics South Africa president Leonard Chuene who recently came under fire following his admission that he lied about doubts surrounding Caster Semenya's gender tests.
"We believe that attempts to remove him as President for his genuine attempts to protect Caster Semenya are opportunistic and should be rejected,"
"Leonard Chuene must be retained, he must not apologise for protecting Caster Semenya," said Malema.
Malema says the term 'hermaphrodite is foreign to him and the people in the villages.
"We do not know a thing called hermaphrodite and as a result, we never discriminated because we will never look at people at as hermaphrodites...
"Do not impose your hermaphrodite concept on us, what is that? Why should we accept concepts imposed on us by imperialist?" queried Malema
Malema took a swipe at South African corporate companies for not offering sponsorship to Mulaudzi, Mokoena and Semenya upon their return from the Athletics championships.
"People are refusing to accept us in our own country. Nedbank is threatening to withdraw. Let them withdraw," Malema said.
Malema revealed the League's intention to hand over, double the money promised to Semenya, gold medalist Mbulaeni Mulaudzi and silver medalist Khotso Mokoena at a gala later this month.
