The ANC Youth League congratulates President Jacob Zuma on the Cabinet reshuffle, particularly the appointment of former ANC Youth League Presidents Malusi Gigaba and Fikile Mbalula as Ministers of Public Enterprises and Sports respectively. The ANC Youth League receives the appointment of our former Presidents as a plausible gift for the ANC Youth League 66th birthday, whose celebration rally happened in the Western Cape on the 30th of October 2010. It is a plausible gift because the principle of generational mix in the leadership of government is now given practical meaning.
The principle of generational mix was re-affirmed by the ANC National General Council in September 2010 and is now being given practical meaning and Youth League graduates will never disappoint in their responsibilities. Those who have been given new responsibilities should accept them with the necessary vigour and determination to ensure that the ANC government's efforts to build better and sustainable livelihoods for all are intensified. The ANC Youth League has confidence in all of the newly appointed Ministers and Deputy Ministers and will give the necessary support whenever required to do so.
The ANC Youth League also calls on those whose Ministerial responsibilities are discontinued to continue serving the ANC in their various other areas of deployment. Cabinet reshuffle is necessary to give those who have been given responsibilities more inspiration to work harder with clear direction. Those with Ministerial responsibilities should constantly know that their responsibilities as Ministers are not permanent and can be given to different people at any given time.
